HARVEST IN VERTUS ,
CÔTE
DES BLANCS after WW2.
1999
, Harvest begin wednesday, September the 15th. Quality is
perfect. Last year we made almost a live report on our daily
basis activities. The End of the century correspond to a Jubilee
Year for us and we believe you'd like to know how it was 50
years ago. Michel WEYNAND is the First on the Left.
Pickershaving
diner. Returning
home after a hard day work ,horse were still in use.
The
grapes were weighted . The harvest was
stoked in 250 pounds baskets. Crushing took place often until
late in the night

The juice called the must was transfered in wooden cask, fork
lift were not available and the loading was made by hand.
Last
day of harvest has always been a great day. Horses and car
were decorated with flours.
Nowadays , harvest
is still an exceptional moment in our live . You can still
consult the 98
Harvest file, still available on the site as extremely
often visited. Horses have dissapeared but MICHEL WEYNAND
keeps on raising some beautifull horses by tradition and nostalgia.
